CBD Legal States Policy

Medical Cannabis Policy State by State: Georgia

What is the legal status of cannabis in Georgia?

The State of Georgia has a patient registry for the use of medical Cannabis with less than 5% THC by weight, and has an equal or greater quantity of CBD compared by weight to the content of THC.  Paradoxically, there is no concession for the cultivation, sale or purchase of any form of Cannabis.  The state is looking into further developing its medical cannabis program, and any such developments will be updated here.  In the meantime, patients can possess up to 20 fluid ounces of cannabis oil.  In addition, the doctor recommending your use of cannabis oil must have a bona fide relationship with you as a patient before the appearance of your current condition requiring the use of cannabis.

CBD oil derived from Industrial Hemp, species Cannabis Ruderalis, is 100% legal in all 50 states, as this plant never has more than trace amounts of THC, but is generally rich in CBD and other cannabinoids.
