What is the legal status of cannabis in Michigan?
Michigan has passed several rounds of legislation over the last decade steadily increasing the legality of and access to medical Marijuana for qualifying patients and caregivers. They may possess up to 12 plants and up to 2.5 ounces of usable marijuana, or 40 ounces of marijuana-infused product if in solid form, 17.5 grams of marijuana-infused product if in gaseous form, or 90 fluid ounces of marijuana-infused product if in a liquid form.
In september, 2016, Michigan’s governor signed a package of new laws into place that expand and clarify the existing laws. CBD oil derived from Industrial Hemp is 100% legal in all 50 states, as this plant never has more than trace amounts of THC, but is generally rich in CBD and other cannabinoids.
